Choosing the best university for yourself is one of the most difficult decisions in our lives. There are people who think about university education in context of having a good job in the future. However, other people think that the society can benefit too.
Nowadays having a very well paid job is usually connected with gained knowledge, especially university knowledge. For example, there is no lawyer or medicine doctor without tertiary education. The same situation is in computer science industry. If you do not have a specialized knowledge which you had been thought on university, the probability that you will be well paid is low.
On the other hand, there are many different benefits of tertiary education for everyone and society. People are thought on universities not only how to perfectly do their future jobs but also how to live wisely and how to behave properly in international business environment. Besides that, students have a possibility to go abroad to study and meet different people and see their culture. Educated society is able to think about itself as a whole. This is even connected with patriotism. In other words, such society can develop on its own and decide wisely about its future.
I am inclined to believe that university education is even more important for society than for individuals. Society can benefit from tertiary education of their people in different ways which I tried to write about. There is no well developed society in the whole world without educated individuals.
