Some people believe that media (such as newspapers)
should be allowed to publish information about the private life of people.
Others say that people have a right to privacy and the issue must be controlled
or even stopped. Discuss both views.
Many
people wonder what information should be published by free media such as press.
Some people believe that it is best to allow them to publish everything. However,
other people think that private information should not be issued. This is not
an easy question to answer but in this essay I will try to look at this issue.
Undoubtedly,
there are some advantages of free press. Firstly, free media are something what
people fight for countless years. For example, in former communist countries
like Poland with formal censorship people had been organizing protests against
censorship in media. Another factor for issuing private information could be
teaching people not to make mistakes done previously by others. As an example
can be shown adults bad?? behaviours to kids. Besides that it is a common
belief that information from private life should be shown especially if it is
connected with public person like politician or famous musician or sportsman
because in most cases they are a role models for teenagers.
Nevertheless,
there could be many disadvantages of all private information. Firstly, not all
information should be published because there are information which are
confidential and issuing them could be even immoral. For example, not everyone
should be informed that someone cannot have baby or his/her baby has
health problems. In addition, such information should be checked before
publishing by issuer.
To
conclude, I believe that publishing private information is not an easy issue?
and each time issuer should seriously think about it. I think that the
advantages of free media like press or television far outweigh the
disadvantages.
